Welcome to bkhemphill.net blog. I am Brian K. Hemphill, a multimedia artist, blogger, artistic coach, educator, and author. I know that seems like a lot of hats to where but it simply means as a creative I get to work on multiple projects, often several types of artistic and educational projects in a day. Although it does mean a busy daily schedule, I rarely get bored as my routine enables me to engage my skills and work across varied projects. For a creative like me whose always bursting with ideas, this freedom enables me to be highly proudctive.
This blog is going to be different than my entertainment blog. This is a blog for creatives of all types of artistic disciplines [visual artists, writers and poets, and performing artists]. My artistic philosophy is simple: there are nine root elements of artistry that interconnect all artistic disciplines. For me this has opened up a whole new world of artistric understanding and exploration. I hope to share some of the insights and knowledge I’ve gleaned from my artistic investigations.
As each of you will have different goals for your artistry depending on your personality, artistic studies, art explosure, and life experiences. So in addition to exploring ways to implement the elements of expressive artistry to invigorate your work, we’ll also deal with issues and challenges many artist face on an ongoing basis: how to squeeze in your art when locked into a busy lifestyle schedule; and ways to create artwork on a budget; and how to find or regain vision, passion and spontaneity in your work and your work life.
So join me on my adventures as I consume and create expressive artistry, both as an arts patron and a creative.
